Riot and fire at Venezuelan jail kills 68 people

A riot and fire that broke out Wednesday in overcrowded cells at a Venezuelan police station killed 68 people. Officials said the casualties included 66 men and two women at the station in the town of Valencia. Prosecutor Tarek William Saab said authorities appointed four prosecutors to determine what caused the deaths.

Jailed American perseveres despite threatened life sentence

International | Indictment against pastor Andrew Brunson runs 62 pages

TURKEY: Sources in Turkey with access to the indictment against American pastor Andrew Brunson say it is 62 pages long and has portions redacted allegedly for national security issues. The indictment, which calls for life imprisonment over “terrorist activities,” is being translated from Turkish to English.
