U.S. pulls out of nuclear arms treaty with Russia

The United States on Friday said it will pull out of a nuclear arms treaty with Russia, blaming Moscow’s noncompliance. In a written statement, U.S. President Donald Trump said Russia violated the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) treaty “with impunity, covertly developing and fielding a prohibited missile system that poses a direct threat to our allies and troops abroad.” Trump said the United States will suspend its treaty obligations Saturday, initiating a transition period that should take six months.

Russians target Mueller probe

WASHINGTON—Russians have published confidential information online from special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation in a campaign to discredit the probe, according to a Wednesday court filing. The FBI determined the leakers obtained the information through Concord Management and Consulting LLC, a Russian-owned company that Mueller has charged with conspiring to spread misinformation in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. Mueller’s office shared the documents with Concord Management attorneys so they could review it as part of their defense.

Stone pleads not guilty to Mueller’s charges

WASHINGTON—President Donald Trump’s longtime adviser Roger Stone pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges of making false statements, tampering with a witness, and obstructing special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. Mueller’s office and the U.S. attorney in Washington, D.C., accuse Stone of lying to Congress about his communications with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange through intermediaries.
