Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe made good Tuesday on his threat to veto a bill redirecting funds from Planned Parenthood to health centers that do not perform abortions. 

McAuliffe vowed to veto both H.B. 2264 and H.B. 1473, which would ban abortion after 20 weeks gestation. The former passed the House 60-33 and the Senate 20-19.

A federal judge on Thursday blocked an effort by the state of Texas to strip Planned Parenthood of Medicaid funding.

State officials announced plans last month to cut $3 million in funding, the final step in a long process to pull all government money from the nation’s largest abortion provider. In 2010, Planned Parenthood centers in Texas received $27 million in state funding.

StemExpress drops effort to quash Planned Parenthood video

Abortion | The Center for Medical Progress still faces other legal hurdles

As of this week, investigative group Center for Medical Progress (CMP) faces one fewer lawsuit connected to its undercover recordings revealing Planned Parenthood and other abortion facilities’ sale of aborted baby body parts.

StemExpress, a human tissue procurement company, dropped its lawsuit aimed at an incriminating video taken by CMP. The video shows CEO Cate Dyer describing her company’s baby body parts procurement.
