Lawmakers gathered in front of the U.S. Capitol today to spotlight new undercover pro-life videos and to reiterate their commitments to defunding Planned Parenthood. 

The videos, made by pro-life activist Lila Rose’s organization Live Action, show Planned Parenthood employees telling women seeking prenatal care to go somewhere else for their ultrasounds.

A federal judge on Thursday blocked an effort by the state of Texas to strip Planned Parenthood of Medicaid funding.

State officials announced plans last month to cut $3 million in funding, the final step in a long process to pull all government money from the nation’s largest abortion provider. In 2010, Planned Parenthood centers in Texas received $27 million in state funding.

WASHINGTON—GOP leadership plans to ax Planned Parenthood funding with an Obamacare repeal package, but the measure may lack support to cross the finish line.

With Republicans set to control both chambers of Congress and the White House, lawmakers have been gearing up for the first big fight of 2017 over healthcare. Conservatives hope gutting Obamacare will facilitate a laundry list of goals this year, including defunding the nation’s largest abortion provider.
