Perry to resign amid Trump impeachment inquiry

WASHINGTON—U.S. Energy Secretary Rick Perry told President Donald Trump on Thursday he intends to resign by the end of the year. Congress has subpoenaed Perry for documents, due Friday, related to the impeachment investigation of the president.

Democrats debate abortion, impeachment, healthcare

The top 12 Democratic presidential candidates found common ground during Tuesday night’s debate over their support for abortion and impeaching President Donald Trump. Former Vice President Joe Biden and others said they wanted to codify Roe v. Wade into law so the U.S. Supreme Court could not overturn it in the future. CNN and The New York Times moderated the debate at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio. The next debate is scheduled for Nov. 20.

Former Trump aide: Giuliani had us worried

WASHINGTON—House investigators held a marathon, closed-door hearing on Monday with Fiona Hill, one of President Donald Trump’s former Russia advisers. She said former national security adviser John Bolton found information about attorney Rudy Giuliani’s work for Trump in Ukraine so alarming that he recommended Hill consult White House lawyers about it. Bolton reportedly told Hill that Giuliani was “a hand grenade who’s going to blow everybody up.”
