Prince Andrew withdraws from royal duties

Several businesses and institutions cut ties with Britain’s Prince Andrew following his weekend interview with the BBC about his relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Virginia Giuffre, an American woman who claims Epstein trafficked her, has said Epstein forced her to have sex with Andrew when she was 17. The prince, the second oldest son of Queen Elizabeth II, denies the accusation but said on Wednesday he would stop representing the royal family in public “for the foreseeable future.”

PayPal cuts ties with porn site

Users who upload videos to a major pornographic website for money will have to find a new online payment service after PayPal blocked such transactions earlier this week. The change affects hundreds of thousands of accounts at Pornhub, according to the site.

Burkina Faso’s insecurity persists

Suspected extremists in Burkina Faso targeted passengers traveling on the highway between the capital city of Ouagadougou and the northern town of Djibo in September. The insurgents separated Christians from Muslims and asked the Christians to pay jizyaa tax for non-Muslims in a Muslim territory—worth $34, according to Edward Clancy, director of outreach with Aid to the Church in Need.
