Appeals court tees up abortion funds showdown

In the state of Maryland, the Trump administration cannot enforce a rule that keeps taxpayer money from going to abortion, the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled on Thursday. The ruling only applies in one state, but it contradicts a decision by the 9th Circuit earlier this year, making it more likely the U.S. Supreme Court will eventually weigh in to settle the dispute.

LA County terminates parking agreement with MacArthur’s church

Worshippers have nearly filled Grace Community Church’s 3,500-seat auditorium at times during the past several weeks in peaceful defiance of state and county health orders. So far, Los Angeles County hasn’t made good on threats of fines or imprisonment against the Sun Valley, Calif., church or its pastor, John MacArthur.

Abortion | The nation’s Supreme Court slows but does not stop a pro-abortion trend

Several hundred pro-life advocates gathered in Mexico City on Tuesday in anticipation of a ruling by Mexico’s highest court that could determine the future of abortion laws in the country. Most wore masks and held signs as they spread out on the paved surface of the Zócalo, the city’s main square surrounded by the Mexico City Metropolitan Cathedral, the National Palace, and the Supreme Court of Justice for the Nation. Rodrigo Iván Cortés, president of the Mexican pro-life group National Front for the Family, arrived at 8 a.m. that morning when the weather was still cool.
