GAZA: Amid ongoing clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinian protesters, reports that Islamic State (ISIS) militants have entered Gaza through Egypt and the Sinai Peninsula have created fear among local Christians. About 1,000 remain in the Hamas-ruled enclave, down from an estimated 4,500 Christians living there six years ago.

SYRIA: The State Department hosted an unusual panel this week featuring White Helmets and producers of the film Last Men in Aleppo . That, plus U.S. Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley’s speech to the UN Security Council on Tuesday, could suggest the Trump administration may take a stronger stance against Russia and Iran’s alliance with the Assad regime in Syria.

Nigerian Christians call for abducted schoolgirl’s freedom

ABUJA, Nigeria—Boko Haram militants last week released all but six of 111 schoolgirls kidnapped from a school in northeast Yobe state. At least five of the girls died in captivity, but Christians across the country continue to call for the release of one girl held back by the militants for refusing to renounce her Christian faith.
