Ex-Penn State president charged in Sandusky case

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP)—Former Penn State President Graham B. Spanier was charged Thursday with hushing up child molestation allegations against Jerry Sandusky, making him the third school official charged in the alleged cover-up.

Prosecutors also added counts against the two former underlings, Timothy M. Curley and Gary C. Schultz.

Lawsuit claims evangelical church hid abuse claims

WASHINGTON (AP)—Three female plaintiffs claim an evangelical church group covered up allegations of sexual abuse against children, failed to report accusations to the police and discouraged its members from cooperating with law enforcement, according to a lawsuit filed Wednesday.

Jerry Sandusky sentenced to at least 30 years

BELLEFONTE, Pa. (AP)—Jerry Sandusky was sentenced Tuesday to at least 30 years in prison - effectively a life sentence—in the child sexual abuse scandal that brought shame to Penn State and led to coach Joe Paterno's downfall.

A defiant Sandusky gave a rambling statement in which he denied the allegations and talked about his life in prison and the pain of being away from his family.

Three victims spoke, often fighting back tears. One looked Sandusky in the eyes at times.
