Barr exploring possible spying on Trump campaign

Attorney General William Barr on Wednesday said he is reviewing the origins of the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, stating he believed the U.S. government had spied on President Donald Trump’s campaign. “I think spying on a political campaign is a big deal,” Barr told senators at a budget hearing, adding he wanted to make sure proper procedures were followed.

Barr: Mueller report will be public ‘within a week’

WASHINGTON—Attorney General William Barr told congressional lawmakers Tuesday he expects to release a redacted version of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report to Congress and the public within a week. Barr appeared at a House Appropriations Committee hearing to testify about the White House’s 2020 budget request for the Department of Justice, but questions about Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. president election quickly took center stage.

House to issue subpoena for Mueller report

WASHINGTON—The House Judiciary Committee plans to vote Wednesday to authorize subpoenas for special counsel Robert Mueller’s full report on Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. Last week, six Democratic House committee chairmen sent a letter to Attorney General William Barr demanding that the Department of Justice release the full report by April 2.
