Abortion | What led an abortionist to save the bodies of dead babies in his garage

A week after 79-year-old former abortionist Ulrich “George” Klopfer died, his wife reported finding boxes in the garage of their Crete, Ill., home filled with the remains of more than 2,000 aborted babies. Klopfer had stored them in sealed plastic bags filled with formalin, a chemical used to preserve biological material. Each bag was carefully labeled and dated from 2000 to 2002. Authorities have not disclosed the gestational age at which the babies died.

The news about news continues to dominate headlines, and on Sept. 14, The New York Times demonstrated again why readers have legitimate reasons to question media giants: A Times story reported an accusation that Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh was involved in a lewd and sexually aggressive encounter against a female student in college.

Several Democratic presidential candidates immediately called for Kavanaugh’s impeachment.

Australian state nixes protections for the unborn

New South Wales on Thursday overturned a 119-year-old law protecting the unborn in Australia’s most populous state. The state legislature voted to allow abortion up to 22 weeks into a pregnancy—longer if two physicians agree. The previous law safeguarded babies unless the pregnancy posed a serious risk to the mother’s health.
