Trump calls for investigation into Mueller probe

WASHINGTON—President Donald Trump on Wednesday accused former FBI officials and Democrats of treason for their role in the Russia investigation and vowed to “get to the bottom” of how the inquiry began. In a 45-minute interview on Fox News, Trump told host Sean Hannity that he planned to declassify and publish in full the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrants the FBI used to get permission to begin surveillance on Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, which the FBI suspected was colluding with Russia to influence the election’s outcome. The FBI released redacted versions of the warrants in July 2018.

“This was an attempted takeover of our government … an illegal takeover,” the president said. He called for an investigation into the actions of FBI and CIA officials, including former FBI Director James Comey, former FBI agent Peter Strzok, FBI lawyer Lisa Page, and former CIA Director John Brennan. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said he will open an investigation into the how the Russia probe got started.

In an interview for a Washington Post report published late Tuesday, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., rejected the conclusion of the Mueller investigation as reported by Attorney General William Barr, who on Sunday said special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation found no evidence the Trump campaign colluded with Russia.

“Undoubtedly there is collusion,” Schiff said. “We will continue to investigate the counterintelligence issues. That is, is the president or people around him compromised in any way by a hostile foreign power?” Trump said Schiff should be ousted from office for his focus on the Russia allegations, adding, “You could say it’s a crime what he did—he was making statements he knew were false.”

"FBI released redacted versions of the warrants in July 2018" -

Why redacted versions? The current Pres. should have full disclosure.

Is that their way of covering up Obama's and Hillary's involvement?

    Go get 'em Trump!

Now Trump can investigate without Pelosi claiming obstruction of justice.

Trump should sue Schiff for defamation of character.

If there was collusion, he is looking in the wrong place. Schiff should turn around and check his own first.

    There should be an investigation.

How Schiff can definitively say there is collusion after an exhaustive report concludes the opposite is one more example of the lack of intellectual integrity on the left.  He is acting like a hardened criminal that refuses to accept the evidence.  Perhaps by collusion he is really referring to his own party?

The left was so positive Mueller would uncover collusion. So now they are positive Mueller’s report contains all the findings about that collusion.  Therefore Atty Gen. Barr must be lying about what is in the report, when he says there’s no finding of collusion.

When they actually see the entire report (less the parts Barr may not legally release) they will read their preferred outcome into what they find, regardless of what the report actually says.

“Delusional” is not an adequate word for the state the left is in.

Investigate the investigator? This is great! John Grisham has the plot right here for a new novel.

If by "investigator" you mean Mueller, I do not think that Pres. Trump means that.  He means the apparently corrupt behavior of certain FBI, Justice Department, and CIA personnel, which should be investigated.  But this is for the Senate and current Justice Department to handle.  Pres. Trump would be wise to move on.

It's hard to EVER know what President Trump means, as he changes his mind every ten minutes. I can't remember. Didn't Trump hire Mueller? Or am I getting mixed up? He hires and fires with joyful exuberance. People are so wonderful, the best ever. Ten minutes later they are scum and scoundrels. Such is the environment of Donald Trump. But, he got off without a collusion charge or evidence of wrong-doing, so I agree. He should move on.
