House approves $2,000 direct stimulus payments

On the heels of an economic aid package that will send $600 direct checks to Americans, President Donald Trump kept pushing for a higher amount. On Monday night, the House approved his request for $2,000 individual checks, sending the bill to the Senate.

Will we ever see these checks? The bill’s reception in the Republican-controlled Senate is more uncertain. Republican leaders have suggested the party is divided over the higher individual checks, and GOP lawmakers’ resistance to higher spending was one of the disagreements that stalled the most recent package. The Senate is set to meet on Tuesday.

The good news is that when hyper inflation kicks in - think Venezuela - then any one of us will be able to pay off the national debt with the trillion dollar bills in our pockets.

So the Pelosi House approved the $2000 stimulus.  Was all that foreign aid and pork still on the bill?  BILLIONS FOR EGYPT AND FOR PAKISTANI GENDER EQUALITY AND FOR THE SMITHSONIAN??  REALLY!!!

and btw, I heard a few minutes ago the Senate has already rejected the bill, with whatever was tucked into it along with the $2000 for each of us.

[my position on the stimulus: my wife and I are doing just fine, thank you, but I know many others are not.  To me, it seems there could be far better ways to help those in distress than a big payment to EVERYONE!]

It's funny that the DC swamp has loads of money to spend on their pet projects and foreign countries, but no money to kick back to taxpayers who fund all their WANTS and pay for their raises every year.

If we are to go broke, I prefer it was over keeping the money here for the people.

Bush Jr. promised he would stop the pork. We got over porked instead. And it never stops.

They keep saying we are broke, but keep dishing it out to nonsense.

Why do we need more museums that tell lies to our children? Billions of years? As if!
