Former sports doctor Larry Nassar received a third sentence of 40 to 125 years in prison Monday for sexual abuse of young female athletes at an elite gymnastics center. Nassar pleaded guilty to molesting girls whom he treated for injuries at the Twistars USA Gymnastics Club in the Lansing, Mich., area. Dozens of victims spoke during the sentencing hearing last week, and the father of two of them tried to attack Nassar in court Friday. Judge Janet Cunningham said she would not punish the father, Randy Margraves, who later apologized publicly. “This cannot be a lawless society. I know that,” Margraves, 58, told reporters. “I lost control, but I gained control later in a holding cell.” Nassar has already been sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison by another jurisdiction and 60 years in federal prison on child pornography charges. He worked for Michigan State University and USA Gymnastics, which trains Olympic athletes. More than 260 athletes, including Olympic medalists Aly Raisman and Simone Biles, said Nassar abused them.
