Accuser wants FBI to recheck Kavanaugh

A California college professor who has accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct when they were both teenagers has asked for an FBI investigation into the incident before she agrees to testify at a hearing. The Senate Judiciary Committee invited Christine Blasey Ford and Kavanaugh to speak at a continuation of Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing Monday.

Planned Kavanaugh, accuser hearing uncertain

A planned continuation of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee next Monday, in which he and the woman accusing him of sexual assault when they were teenagers would testify, hit some snags Tuesday.

Christine Blasey Ford, who said Kavanaugh pinned her to a bed, groped her, and prevented her from calling for help at a party during the early 1980s, has not confirmed she will participate despite several attempts by committee Chairman Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, to reach her and her representatives.

Kavanaugh, accuser to testify publicly next Monday

UPDATE: Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, announced Monday evening that the Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a public hearing next Monday with Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford, the woman accusing him of sexual assault when they were teens. The committee chairman had attempted to have the panel’s staff conduct phone interviews with the two, but Democrats, including Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York and the ranking Democrat on the committee, Dianne Feinstein of California, objected, demanding the FBI investigate the accusation.
