Evangelical college Lee University turned out another singing star Tuesday night when Jordan Smith, 21, took first place in the popular television competition The Voice.

An Obama administration policy designed to avoid “bad public relations” might have contributed to the terror attack in San Bernardino, Calif., enabling one of the shooters to slip into the country with her extremist ties undiscovered.

Shooter Tashfeen Malik, 29, was open on her social media accounts about her ties to ISIS and her desire to engage in jihad. But when she applied for a K-1 (fiancée) visa to marry fellow shooter Syed Farook, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) didn’t look at her social media accounts.

Obama: Medal of honor recipient shows America at its best

Early one morning in September 2009, a routine mission through a valley in Kunar Province, Afghanistan, became a deadly battle against the Taliban. It might have been a total victory for the militants without the courageous actions of former U.S. Army Capt. William D. Swenson.

Today, the Seattle resident received the Medal of Honor, the United States' highest military award, from President Barack Obama. Swenson is the sixth living recipient to be awarded the medal for actions in Iraq or Afghanistan.
