Doctors and healthcare providers do not have to break with their consciences to perform sex change operations under a preliminary injunction against an Obama administration mandate.

U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor of Texas ruled in favor of eight states and three Christian healthcare groups Saturday by blocking a Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) rule set to go into effect Jan. 1.

Judge blocks pro-abortion law in Illinois

Pregnancy care centers in Illinois gained a small victory Tuesday when a judge issued a preliminary injunction against a law requiring healthcare providers to promote abortions.

In August, Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner signed a law amending the 1998 Illinois Healthcare Right of Conscience Act to force healthcare providers to give information about abortion procedures and where to get them to any woman who asks.

 Emily Troscinski, director of Illinois Right to Life, applauded the judge’s ruling.

Texas moves to pull Planned Parenthood funding

Texas will no longer send $3.1 million of Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood, according to a letter sent to the organization Wednesday.

The letter, from Texas Health and Human Services Commission Inspector General Stuart Bowen, gave Planned Parenthood 30 days’ notice before the state shuts off funding.
