Police identify Virginia Beach shooter, 12th victim dies

UPDATE: Police identified the gunman who killed 12 people and wounded four in Friday’s shooting at a municipal building in Virginia Beach, Va., as DeWayne Craddock, 40, an engineer who served in the military and worked for the city’s public utilities department for 15 years. Craddock, who was armed with a .45-caliber handgun with a suppressor, died after what was described by Virginia Beach Police Chief James Cervera as a long gun battle with four officers. Police recovered other weapons belonging to the shooter at the scene and at his home.

Hall of Fame quarterback Bart Starr dies

Bart Starr, who led the Green Bay Packers to five NFL championships in the 1960s, including the first two Super Bowls, died Sunday. He was 85. Starr, who had been in failing health after suffering two strokes and a heart attack in 2014, died in Birmingham, Ala.

Comedian Tim Conway dies at age 85

Tim Conway, a comedian known for his Emmy Award–winning work on The Carol Burnett Show in the 1970s, died Tuesday morning in a care facility in Los Angeles, according to his representative Howard Bragman of LaBrea Media. Conway, who was 85, died from a disorder where there is an excess amount of fluid on the brain. His wife, Charlene Fusco, and a daughter, Jackie, were at his side.
