George Floyd buried in Houston

In the video that sparked protests around the world, George Floyd could be heard crying for his mother as a Minneapolis police officer knelt on his neck shortly before his death on May 25. Floyd was buried next to her in Houston on Tuesday after a private funeral ceremony.

Stocks dip after surprising rally

But stocks around the world dropped on Tuesday, signaling caution from investors after a dramatic rise over the past two weeks. Chauvin appears in court

A Hennepin County, Minn., judge set bail at $1 million with conditions for the officer charged with murdering George Floyd. Derek Chauvin appeared in court via closed-circuit television on Monday afternoon from state prison in Oakdale, Minn. He faces charges of second-degree murder without intent, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter. Floyd died two weeks ago after Chauvin knelt on his neck while attempting to arrest him. Chauvin’s next court appearance is June 29.
