Lindsey Graham: I'm ready to defeat America's enemies

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., announced his Oval Office bid on Monday at a podium perched in a normally quiet street against the small storefronts of the town where he grew up, Central, S.C.

“I want to be president to protect our nation that we all love so much.” Graham said, “So get ready. I’m ready!”

The announcement was a mere formality after the senator confirmed his candidacy in an interview with CBS last month.

George Pataki makes presidential run official

Former three-term New York Gov. George Pataki is running for the Republican Party nomination for president. He made it official Thursday morning, telling a crowd in Exeter, N.H., that he is running to protect American freedoms from a government that has grown too big and too powerful.

Pataki may be one of the more moderate candidates in the GOP field, but his opening stump speech sounded a conservative rallying cry.

Santorum announces White House bid to blue-collar crowd

Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum launched his second White House bid on Wednesday, promising to bolster U.S. manufacturing and put working-class Americans back to work.

In keeping with the theme, Santorum announced his presidential campaign against a blue-collar backdrop, gathering in a warehouse, surrounded by factory workers in his hometown of Butler, Pa.
