It’s pretty ironic, don’t you think, that an outfit as sleazy as Fox News should either seek—or get—any credit at all for firing a fellow like Roger Ailes? Ailes had become the target of some specific accusations of sexual harassment from a bevy of women on the Fox team. The powers that be apparently decided that enough is enough and that, even with a vigorous Ailes denial, the Fox image didn’t need to be dragged through the muck.

Mean-spirited reporting

If there’s anything worse than a mean-spirited spoilsport, it’s a mean-spirited spoilsport who apparently doesn’t have a clue what he’s talking about. That was the case a couple of weeks back with The Washington Post. On attitude alone, the Post deserves a grade of no better than C- for a story it did about WORLD’s hometown of Asheville, N.C. And the story offered sorry coverage of the basic facts of the case.

If we’re coming to learn anything about modern-day terrorism, we’re discovering how sophisticated and calculating its implementers have become. The video records from Turkey, Orlando, San Bernardino, Paris, and all the other sites may look like chaos and mayhem. But again and again, we’re witnessing how complex, complicated, and mature these attacks now are.
