Video shows officer outside school during shooting

A surveillance video from last month’s school shooting in Parkland, Fla., shows Broward County Sheriff’s Deputy Scot Peterson failing to enter the school during the attack. Peterson was the only armed guard outside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Feb. 14 when a gunman opened fire in the school, killing 17 people. On Thursday, the sheriff’s office released 27 minutes of footage from the day of the shooting. “The video speaks for itself,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

Donald Trump Jr.’s wife files for divorce

WASHINGTON—Vanessa Trump, the wife of Donald Trump Jr., filed for an uncontested divorce Thursday in New York after more than 12 years of marriage. The 40-year-old former model and actress married the eldest son of the president in 2005. “After 12 years of marriage, we have decided to go our separate ways,” the two said in a joint statement. “We will always have tremendous respect for each other and our families. We have five beautiful children together and they remain our top priority.

President Donald Trump announced drastic plans to overhaul leadership in his administration on Tuesday, but the new team might not come together as quickly as he had planned.

Trump fired Rex Tillerson as secretary of state and asked CIA Director Mike Pompeo to become his administration’s foreign policy chief. Meanwhile, Pompeo’s deputy, Gina Haspel, got the president’s nod to head up the CIA.
