HeeSun Lee, a Korean-born poet and rapper, has opened the eyes of many people through her music, which connects the Gospel to real life. Raised in Staten Island, N.Y., HeeSun uses her gifts to share her experiences, her testimony, and her love for God. In her debut album, Re:Defined., HeeSun displays a special skill communicating the mystery of redemption. I recently caught up with HeeSun to ask her about the project.

Outside of the marriage crisis, fatherlessness is the greatest social problem in America. Churches, schools, and non-profit organizations not partnering on specific initiatives to build virtuous men and strong fathers are missing an opportunity truly to bless society.

In the black community, the institution of marriage is essentially dead. While marriage in Western developed nations is declining in general, the black community and black women are being disproportionately affected. Unless marriage and family issues receive a higher priority, tackling other major problems, like declining high school graduation rates, will be like treading water in the Mississippi River 10 feet above a strong undercurrent.
