A useful division

A useful division to keep in the mind is between the things you can do something about and the things you can’t do something about. Keep that bifurcation in mind and you will do well. The biblical warrant for this is implied in every page of Scripture but comes into sharp focus in particular texts:

“Trust in the LORD and do good …” (Psalm 37:3)

On a Brooklyn street corner

On a recent visit to New York City, one of my traveling companions decided to look up a young man she knew of who was living hand to mouth in Brooklyn. The 19-year-old had declared his independence from his parents and the church and was pursuing his goal of transitioning from a male to a female.
